General Terms and Conditions of Sale (GTC)

1. Purpose

These General Terms and Conditions of Sale (GTC) govern the contractual relationship between Vodoun Travel, organizer of travel, cultural and spiritual experiences, and any natural or legal person making a purchase of services on the website www.vodoun-travel.com.
Any order implies unreserved acceptance of these GTC.

2. Services offered

Vodoun Travel offers:

  • Cultural and spiritual stays in Benin and West Africa;
  • Themed tours focusing on Vodun traditions, rites, intangible heritage and encounters with local communities;
  • Support services (guides, interpreters, cultural mediators);
  • Events and festivals, including the Xwé Vodun Festival;
  • The possible sale of cultural products, visual media and works of art.

3. Booking and payment

Bookings can be made via the website or by direct contact with Vodoun Travel.

All reservations are only confirmed after payment of a deposit of 30% of the total amount.

The balance must be paid no later than 15 days before the start of the service.

Payments are accepted by bank transfer, secure credit card, or any other method indicated on the website.

4. Price

The prices shown on the website are expressed in FCFA or euros and include VAT where applicable.
They include only the services mentioned in the offer.
The following are not included: visa fees, airfare, travel insurance, and personal expenses.

5. Cancellation and refund

Cancellation by the customer:

More than 30 days before departure: 80% refund of the amounts paid.

Between 15 and 30 days: 50% refund.

Less than 15 days: no refund possible.

Cancellation by Vodoun Travel:
In the event of a major unforeseen circumstance (extreme weather conditions, political instability, logistical or health impossibility), the organizer will offer either a postponement of the service or a full refund.

6. Responsibilities

Vodoun Travel is committed to ensuring the proper execution of services in accordance with the description provided.
However, the organizer cannot be held liable in the event of:

Force majeure (natural disasters, political unrest, pandemics, etc.);

Delays or incidents attributable to external service providers (airlines, hotels, local transport);

Participant behavior contrary to local customs, safety rules or respect for traditions.

7. Insurance

The client is required to purchase travel insurance covering medical risks, accidents, repatriation, and civil liability. Vodoun Travel cannot be held responsible for the absence of insurance.

8. Respect for cultures and traditions

Activities organized by Vodoun Travel include encounters with local communities and traditional rituals.
Participants agree to respect the rules of conduct, cultural taboos, and instructions given by guides and traditional leaders.
Any breach of these rules may result in exclusion from the activity without refund.

9. Personal Data

The personal information collected is necessary for processing reservations and ensuring the proper execution of services.
In accordance with current regulations (GDPR), the customer has the right to access, rectify, and delete their data.

10. Intellectual Property

All texts, images, logos and content on the Vodoun Travel website are protected by copyright.
Any reproduction or use without authorization is prohibited.

11. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions are governed by Beninese law.
Any dispute relating to their interpretation or performance shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Beninese courts.
